Maryland MESA strives to provide students in grades 3–12 with the opportunity to explore STEM through a fun, hands-on program. Using a project-based approach, students learn the fundamentals of engineering and computer science by working on projects (called challenges) designed by APL and the National MESA organization. We make learning math fun. We believe middle school is a critical juncture when a love of math must be encouraged, and a fear of math must be overcome.
